HOUSE FLY (DOMESTIC BLISS)

HOUSE FLY Performed at: Experimentica Platform 04 and Chapter Arts Centre 06. (40 minutes.)

House Fly Began work as a site-specific movement exploration, within the domestic environment of a kitchen, during the preparation of a meal. The dance evolves from a series of observations and imagined conversations with a dying house fly trapped inside. The dance inhabits a space between the contrasting, parallel worlds of human and insect parasites. Housefly‘s movement score is assembled from a collection of written and spoken fragments from this realm between human and insect- using poetical devices to construct movement and movement to construct spatial poetry- Using random and specific devices within an improvisational framework.
